At a time like COP30, our dream is that there is a strong and clear recommendation for demarcation now, and that this really happens. More demarcated lands mean more people taking care of the forest, more standing forest and more concrete contribution to facing the climate crisis, in addition to being one of the steps towards our well-being, as we also fight for education, health, safety and transportation. The presence of many indigenous people at the COP brings hope to qualify this debate and strengthen positive changes. I wonder how many of us will come out of this COP30 empowered and how this can contribute to more dialogues, changes and the presence of more indigenous people in the management of this country. Carlos is interested in the transdisciplinary approach to knowledge integration in socioecological systems with career experiences ranging from entomology, ecology, participatory action research, indigenous research methodologies and decolonial processes. His interests include critical development of transcendental knowledges for inner -outer transformations, with experience as self-development therapist, meditation practices, Amerindian philosophies and the ritual use of sacred plants. In 2024, she completed her PhD Thesis in Environmental Science at the Centre for Environmental and Climate Science (CEC) and Agenda 2030 Graduate School at Lund University. Her research interests are focused on our understanding of socioecological systems, sustainable land use, food-systems and biodiversity conservation for more sustainable futures.
