Putting Agenda 2030 into practice - how the landscape perspective can contribute

This workshop, co-arranged by Focali-SIANI, will facilitate an interactive dialogue about effective ways to implement the Agenda 203 in both policy and practice by applying a landscape perspective. The event, held at SEI, has a particular focus on exchange between Swedish actors working with forest, water, agriculture, natural resources, climate and development.

Launch of Agroforestry Network – initiative co-founded by Focali

On Tuesday, November 22, Agroforestry Network is launched. This initiative gives Swedish scientists, and organisations within environment and development cooperation, new possibilities for cooperation and advocacy. The network is founded by Vi Agroforestry (Vi-skogen), SLU Global, SIANI and Focali with the aim to increase the knowledge and implementation of agroforestry in development projects.

Welcome to attend our open Focali seminar, 10 November, and listen to experiences from one of the largest areas of restored rainforest in the world. Focali members Ulrik Ilstedt and Malin Gustafsson, from the Department of Forest Ecology and Management at SLU, are working with the “Saw-a-seed project” together with scientists from around the world. The project, funded by IKEA and the "Kamprad Family Foundation", aims at restoring an area of 18 500 ha rainforest on Borneo in Sabah that was seriously damaged by forest fires and logging.
